I am still in shock! Just a few days ago, I received an email from a national magazine, letting me know that my image was chosen as the cover of their latest issue. I couldn't believe it! What an honor! My submission was amongst hundreds of other images from amazing photographers. I am so grateful for this opportunity!
How did it come about? Well, there was a call for submissions from Senior Year Magazine for college graduation photos for their special edition this year. Senior photographers were invited to submit their favorite college graduation photos from their recent shoots for the Class of 2023. As soon as I saw the call, I knew I had to submit my images. I submitted photos that captured the excitement and personalities of the girls from my session. I never thought I would make it to the cover of a national magazine, but here it is! It's a dream come true for me and a huge honor as I pour my heart and soul into my photography.
Senior Year Magazine originated as an Instagram featuring account and published its first magazine in 2019 and is a national publication. SYM currently has 25k followers on their Instagram and are tagged by photographers in over 795k images! Some of the magazines are national publications and some are international (depends on where the submissions come from). Again, what an honor to be featured on the cover of this fantastic magazine! I am grateful for this experience, and I hope that it inspires others to chase their dreams, no matter how big they may seem.
I am in my 9th year of my business and have come such a long way and know there is more road to be traveled. I love what I do and the joy it brings to others. I love that every year brings new challenges and new, friendly faces. I feel like the more I know, the more there is to learn. I look forward to seeing what the rest of the year brings.
